This is a high-quality reliable Swiss hardware which has been designed with passion and precision. It is a high-speed real-time slave board for an 8 channels 12VDC LEDs stripes light-show, with a PWM feature to be able to control LEDs intensity. But you can drive lots of kind of 12VDC loads with these open collector outputs, like relays, DC motors, light bulbs, etc. The board accepts a maximum current of 6.3A per channel, with a total current of 10A per board, protected by a 10A DC fuse. If you bridge the JP1 onboard jumper, 22 SMD LEDs display the real-time outputs state on the board, as a 7 segment with dot display. If you have heavy LED loads, I advise you to use a 150W 12VDC 12.5A Traco Power power supply. You have to install the Moxa Miineport E1 drivers, which create a COM port on your computer. You can have as many 8888 boards and COM ports as you want on a single computer, so that your light-show's size is undefined. In my case, I have writen an animated LEDs light-show sampler software in Delphi running on Windows platforms, which controls 4x 8 independant LEDs stripes = 32 LEDs stripes, as 4x 7 segments (with a dot) huge displays. The power of this board is that it answers very fast to serial orders from your computer. So you can follow for example high BPM electronic music whithout any latency and lag.
